This young artist have disciplinary interests including application of new media resources in the concert hall, multimedia performance, video art and sound art, audio-visual improvisation, and installation. His unexpected and creative combination of different artistic forms makes his works fun and interesting to see and experience. With his efforts, Young has made himself and his works become known to more and more people. He has performed his works in Hong Kong, London, Australia, the United State, Germany, etc. He is also a regular guest at festivals around the globe such as Sydney Springs International New Music Festival (Australia 2001) and Hong Kong Arts Festival (HK 2009 and 2010).
Now Samson Young is a PH.D fellow at Princeton University, and an assistant professor in Critical Intermedia Art at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. With more more idea spinning in his head, we are all very looking forward to his new work.

I chose this blog because I really want to know the connections and interactions between media art and contemporary art. I used to think that media is just a way for artist to make or push their art works, and never think media itself as kind of art.
回覆刪除After viewed your blog, I think Samson Young is creative and thoughtful since he is specialist in so many different areas.
It's good that you gave us a clear definition about the New Media.
Maybe you could upload your interview sheet later, and then we could have a better understanding about your works.
I'm curious about Samson Young's view about the media art, because this is a fresh contemporary art compared with other forms of art like painting , photographing and so on, the main reason for him to chose this special art form.
